With versatile work areas and capabilities spanning woodworking, metalworking, painting, prototyping, and more, members have the room and resources to take a project from rough idea to finished creation.

SPACES
The Makerspace offers a few difference workspaces designed to support a wide range of projects, from traditional fabrication to more creative activities.

THE MAIN SHOP
The Main Shop makes up the workshop where ideas are built. This professional-grade shop space is zoned and built to support creativity and fabrication with hand and lightweight power tools, stationary machinery, and more to support your next project.

THE METAL SHOP
The Metal Shop offers a rustic shop space with pop-up forges, welding and acetylene torches, chop saws, and standard metal-shop tools for prototyping, repair, and custom fabrication. Use of the Metal Shop requires advance approval and training.

THE MAKER COMMONS
Best described as being "a vibe," the Maker Commons offers open creative workspace with an industrial motif. Shop lighting, eclectic art pieces, mural art by local artists, and industrial worktables and seating—use the space to work, create, or hang out.
Interested in hosting your next event at the Makerspace? Our space is ideal for prototype sprints, training sessions, build days, product development workshops, classroom activities, and more, for up to 30 people. Bookings have a 2-hour minimum and start at $200 (includes access to standard hand tools, whiteboard, materials, supplies, and mobile TV).

Want to try the space, tackle a weekend project, or just need somewhere to build? Access passes give you a simple way to get in, get to work, and experience the Makerspace without a membership. Pick a day, bring your project, check-in, and start making.

PROGRAMS & EVENTS
From introductory sessions to intensive workshops and one-off events, the Fab Lab leads several programs designed to support different types of makers at different levels of engagement with tools, materials, and fabrication workflows.
OPEN HOUSE BUILD NIGHTS
Curious about the Makerspace but unsure about membership? Join one of our monthly Open House Build Nights (every fourth Thursday) and explore the Makerspace at no cost. Try out new tools, work on your own projects, or support one of our community build projects.
ARTIST MIXERS
Looking for a creative space to connect with established and emerging local artists? Join one of our monthly Arist Mixers (every third Friday) and sketch, paint, and create at no cost. We provide workspace, wall space (for test murals) and general arts and craft materials.

WHAT IS A MAKERSPACE?
Makerspaces offer industrial-grade fabrication equipment to the public via membership plans and serve as a place for DIYers, artists, small business owners, and hobbyists to create without incurring heavy tools costs.
WHEN IS THE MAKERSPACE OPEN?
The Makerspace is open to members Monday through Friday from noon to 8 p.m. Weekend access is by appointment only.
HOW LONG IS MEMBERSHIP?
Membership runs for 12 months from the day you become a member, but it can be cancelled at any time.
WHAT BENEFITS DO I GET AS A MEMBER?
As a member, you get access to tools and workspace in the Makerspace during member hours, plus ongoing access to member chat groups, invitations to meetups, member discounts, storage, and more.
CAN MEMBERSHIP SAVE ME MONEY?
It can cost up to $20,000 in startup costs to set up a fully equipped shop space, including tools, machinery, insulating and setting up new electrical, and more, assuming you even have the space. Joining the Makerspace could save you thousands in startup costs and ongoing equipment maintenance and other utilities costs.
DOES THE MAKERSPACE OFFER CLASSES?
The Makerspace offers several events, from introductory classess to pop-up training workshops to provide exploratory and hands-on training in our equipment and machinery, plus safety orientation and minimum competency tools trainings.
CAN I BRING A GUEST?
Members are allowed to bring a guest once per week, provided the guest signs all applicable waivers and is trained to use our equipment.
DOES THE MAKERSPACE SELL MATERIALS?
The Makerspace does sell some materials, including wood, acrylic, glass, particle board, and metal scrap, as available, plus extra scrap wood and other materials that are made available at no cost to members.
CAN MEMBERS STORE MATERIALS?
Members are provided access to a standard storage locker, and access to pallet rack shelf storage can be purchased for $20 per month (limited availability).
DO I GET OTHER BENEFITS?
Members receive priority registration to events and member discounts on rental packages for the Makerspace and Maker Commons.
CAN I CANCEL MEMBERSHIP?
While memberships run for 12 months, members can cancel and reactivate their membership plans at any time.
DOES THE MAKERSPACE TAKE COMMISSION WORK?
The Makerspace does take some work on commission, depending on machine availability and complexity, for partner organizations, nonprofits, and startups. Projects are facilitated by our partner, Quanstructs.
