NEXT ARTIST RESIDENCY

The Next Artist Residency program gives emerging artists the time, space, and support to dive deeper into their work and see where it can go. Over 6 months, residents will develop new work, connect with other artists and creatives, and prepare for a final showcase of their work.

ARTIST MIXERS

The Creator Hub hosts monthly Arist Mixers (every third Friday), creating a space for emerging and established local artists to sketch, paint, create, and connect, at no cost. Mixers offer general arts and crafting materials and feature open wall space for mural design (for portfolio development).

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM?

Selected artists are provided dedicated workspace and storage for their artwork and materials, expanded access to the Makerspace, business advising in arts entrepreneurship, and community connections to other local artists and programs.

WHERE IS THE RESIDENCY BASED?

The Next Artist Residency is based at Project 3810, which is located at 3810 North Tulsa Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73112. All workspaces and studio facilities are located on the second floor.

HOW MUCH IS THE RESIDENCY?

There is currently no cost to participate in the Next Artist Residency program. Selected artists are granted a scholarship that covers the administrative costs of the program.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF RESIDENT ARTISTS DURING THE RESIDENCY?

Resident Artists are required to provide 2 workshops per month; 1 will be offered at no cost for participants and 1 will be offered with priced tickets. Program administrators will work with Resident Artists to coordinate workshops, establish pricing, prepare materials, and market events.

DO I HAVE TO BE BASED IN OKLAHOMA CITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RESIDENCY?

Yes, selected artists must be based in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area to participate in the Next Artist Residency program. The program does not currently provide any stipend or other funding to assist with relocation.

IS THERE A SHOWCASE EVENT?

Yes, all Resident Artists will be required to participate in a final showcase of their completed works in March 2027. 

HOW LONG DOES THE RESIDENCY RUN?

The Next Artist Residency program starts on September 14, 2026, and runs for 6 months until March 1, 2027.

WHAT KIND OF WORK CAN I MAKE?

The Next Artist Residency program does not place content restrictions on Resident Artists' individual works. The program is designed to assist Resident Artists with refining their work and portfolio.
